To City Centre

There are a number of buses that go from Shirley Ecolodge Hostel Accommodation to the city centre. They are bus numbers: 46, 0. Bus stops are located along Shirley Road - walking distance from our entrance.

Shortest route to the City Centre:

1. Head west on Shirley Rd towards Petrie St
2. Turn left at Hills Rd
3. Continue along Hills Rd until you are on the corner of Bealey Ave and Fitzgerald Ave

Longer route to the City Centre

1. Head west on Shirley Rd towards Petrie St
2. Turn left at Hills Rd
3. Take the 3rd right onto Edgeware Rd
4. Take the 3rd left onto Barbadoes St
5. When you have crossed Bealey Ave, you have reached the City Centre of Christchurch

From the Airport:

If travelling from the airport by bus, take bus number 29 to the bus exchange in the city centre then bus number 7 to Shirley Road.

1. Head northeast on Durey Rd
2. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Orchard Rd
3. Turn right at Harewood Rd
   Go through 1 roundabout
4. Harewood Rd turns slightly right and becomes Papanui Rd
5. Turn left at Innes Rd
6. Turn right at Cranford St
7. Take the 3rd left onto Westminster St
8. Take the 2nd right onto Forfar St
9. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Warrington St
10. Continue onto Shirley Rd
    Destination will be on the left

From the Train Station:

If travelling from the airport by bus, take bus number 29 to the bus exchange in the city centre then bus number 7 to Shirley Road.

1. Head northwest on Troup Dr
2. Take the 1st left to stay on Troup Dr
3. Turn right at Whiteleigh Ave
4. Whiteleigh Ave turns slightly left and becomes Clarence St
5. Turn right at Riccarton Rd
6. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Deans Ave
7. Continue onto Harper Ave
8. Continue onto Bealey Ave
9. Turn left at Sherborne St
10. Take the 3rd right onto Edgeware Rd
11. Take the 2nd left onto Madras St
12. Continue onto Forfar St
13. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Warrington St
14. Continue onto Shirley Rd - Destination will be on the left at number 35.
