Q: What is the current time in New Zealand?

Q: What time is check-in?
A: Check-in is from 2pm. Please advise us of your estimated time of arrival.

Q: What is/are required to check-in?
A: Must produce photo ID at check-in that matches the guest name on the booking, and that we will take and retain a copy of this ID to accompany the guest's signed registration to minimise the risk of fraudulent credit card usage and for verification purposes with your credit card provider in the event of disputation. Walk-in guests must also produce photo ID at check-in. We may require guest(s) to provide a security deposit at check-in to guarantee payment of any incidental charges.

Q: What time is check-out?
A: Check-out is by 10am. If you require late check-out, please discuss with us directly. An additional charge may apply.

Q: Do I need to book in advance or can I just walk-in and get a room?
A: We always advise booking in advance, particularly in the peak season of Christmas to Easter. You can book via our website, by email or by phone +64 3 960 8018.

Q: How long does it take to get to Racecourse Backpackers Hostel from the airport?

Q: Will my credit card be charged if I forget to cancel my room reservation?
A: Yes. Reservations are guaranteed to your credit card. To avoid being charged, reservations must be cancelled in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined on the Booking page (or Booking on mobile website version). Take time to review the cancellation policy.

Q: I tried booking online but it only allows me to book for 1 person in a dorm room. I would need to make 4 separate bookings for 4 persons and I do not know which dorm rooms have 5 beds available.
A: To book for more than one bed in a dorm room for the same night e.g. 4 beds for 1 January 20XX, make separate bookings for Penta Room - Bunk1, Penta Room - Bunk2, Penta Room - Bunk3 and Penta Room - Bunk4 the same way you make bookings for multiple private rooms for 1 night.
Dorm room which have 5 beds available is "Penta Room".

Q: What credit cards do you accept?
A: We accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards.

Q: I will be checking in at about or after midnight. What date should I select as the check-in date and for 1 night?
A: If arriving at about or after midnight please do not book for the next day, i.e. arriving 1am Tuesday morning - book for Monday night.
Another example:
Booked night (check-in): 1 January 2099, check-out: 2 January 2099.

Q: Do you have internet/email access?
A: Racecourse Backpackers Hostel has both guest and wireless internet.
